My Last Ride With Marion Barry, Jr. “Mayor For Eternity”

Recently, I had a Nissan Taxi as a press car. I attended Rock Newman’s TV show at WHUT-TV. Don Peebles was his guest. Marion Barry surprised Don on the show.
After the show, Don calls for a car to take Marion home. I volunteered to give him a ride in the Nissan New York Taxi. Bill Hart rode in the back keeping the “Mayor For Eternity” company. Mr. Barry loved the taxi.
I was proud to be his driver. After all, he was a black man trying to get a cab to South East Washington, DC.
